my BANES X counrty contribution

my contribution for the X Country was :

- direct the runners though the fence and to tell them to keep left , this had to be said clearly so that the runners  knew where to run , also for health and safety reasons  , we had to supervise them in case of an injury or problem.

- motivate the runners, this is very important for the more challenged runners who are finding the course a challenge , we could tell that our motivation towards the runners was appreciated because some of them thanked us as they were running around

- we had to watch out for cheaters  , people that were cheating were told to go back and run the correct route this was to make sure it was safe and fair for every runner.

improvements

- an improvement that we could have under token is that we could have started earlier , if we started earlier then towards the end of the races we would not have to had both the 11's and the senior running together because this caused lots of confusion.

- next time we could have had 100 percent attendance by the whole class.

overall review of the 5 junors school festivals

after 5 junors school festival , i am feeling very confident with my communition skills with children , and i feel that i am a very good coach. i enjoyed the majority of my festival , the children looked like they were having fun and enjoed my activity.

Thoughout the 5 festivals my activity was changing , because i was adding variations to it so that it makes it more challenging for them .

Dispite not having much commitment from micheal i handaled each of the situations very well and managed on my own.

26th september st philips juniour school (self evaluation)

This festival i thought went really well , even though michael did not turn up because he had other commitments , i still went a head with my activity , all of the children were really well behaved and enthuastic towards my activity.

Wth my activity i added a few different alterations.
- i made the minfield narrower  to prevent the children from cheating and to make it harder
-added more cones to make it harder
- described to them that it is more of a team game

improvments for next time will be to maybe Incorporate some blind folds so that it is made even harder , also i would like to observe micheal to see how he choachs and maybe see if there are some things that i can inprove on.

19th september tewerton primary school.

On the 19th of september we went to t o tewerton primary school  to do our activities for the children.  my game did not work as well as the other times due to the fact that the children were a bit misbehaved.  next time i need to think about bringing blindfolds so that the children find it less easy to cheat. also i think this was my worst festival because i found it hard to control the children.

improvments for next time would be that i should have a clear plan of how to dicipline them if they are not cooporating , prehaps i could tell them to sit out so that they dont ruin the game for everyone else.

new time i will review micheals performance making notes on how he can improve it and what he did well and what he did not do well.

personal coaching review

ovservations for michael white.
  • does the coach present himself approtietly?
  • is his present himself  in a good manner?
  • is he dressed well?
  • is he confident communication to children?
  • does he make a relevent link to his olyimpic values?
  • does he set up efficently ?
  • is there game open for variations or is there only one clear aim?
  • does he show good communication between other coachs when moving the children on?

15th september 2011 southdown primary school

my second promary festival went a lot better then the first one , i was more prepared in what i was going to say and found it easier it easier to talk to the children. i found it easier to work on my own rather then being in a pair with somone else.

improvments would be that maybe i should add an extra game with variations in it in case the children finish early.

i think that the other sixth fromers could look more professional by wearing the Appropriate  kit , and not playing with footballs while Mr Scarbrough  is setting up the groups.

12thSeptember - St Martins primary school

We went to st martins primary school on the 12th september , We had the values of courage and equality to explain And i worked with mr scarbrough.

In turns the children went round to each station and each of the leaders explained why there olyimpic values matched there activity and what the activity was.

Iu explained to the groups that i had what equality and courage was by using examples so that they understood , then explained the game we had planned  whitch was a minesweeper exercise  where the children had to split up into pairs and guid each other though the maze by missing the cones on the floor.

This represented trust and bravery in there pairtners  whitch linked to the olyimpic values. After the we had finished the games with the children we then went into there class rooms to hand out awards to the chuildren who we thought had made a speacial contrabution.
